Vidarbha Welfare Association (VWA), Mumbai is a NGO having registration No. 1386/2003(G.B.S.S.D), F-26865 & office at Golibar, Santacruz (E), Mumbai – 400058. VWA is formed in the year 2003 with vision to unite all vidarbhians settled in Mumbai Metropolitan region and its suburbs. VWA has achieved a marvelous journey and got popularity in its first decade only and have organized multiple Educational Counselling programs , Medical Camps, Blood Collection Camps, and Marriage Bureau programs to facilitate vidarbhians settled in Mumbai metropolitan regions. VWA is continuously organizing annual get-together program where majority of vidarbhians meet, greet and share their needs and facilities with each other.

Even in COVED -19 period VWA has supported people of Mumbai. VWA has run a drive to offer cooked food & rations for daily wagers & labors during peak lockdown time at most of its units along with other local NGOs. VWA Santacruz has organized daily kitchen for cooked food for poor labors and families.

VWA has now entered in its second phase of upgradation with technological advancement and a support from our young generation so as to transform it into an highly efficient in terms of solving day to day needs of people, fast communication, prompt & effective social activity on ground. 

In our second decade we have launched our website, email id and whats App group for live update of our activity & sharing needs & facilities within our members and volunteers. Website is hosted to announce our existence to outside world and to publish our activity. Further to boost our connectivity with the desired vidarbhians who want our support for charity, educational, medical & jobs support,

VWA AIM

To develop & maintain a stable platform for all vidarbhians settled across Mumbai metropolitan region, where we shall share our issues, needs and facilities with our fellow vidarbhians and benefitted from each other.

To support & assist people irrespective of caste, creed, religion & sex for assistance in achieving education, employment, medical aid & general guidance.

VWA VISION

To achieve a feeling of affection, brotherhood, peace and happiness from the people of our society by supporting them in their difficult times as per our scope of work followed by objective mentioned in our Bylaws.

VWA is performing following activities right from its inception;

1)   Annual Get Together: 

An annual function for all vidarbhians settled in Mumbai & suburbs for interaction & share each other’s thoughts.

2)   Educational & Vocational Guidance & Assistance: 

VWA provides platform for career counselling or IIT/NEET/MPSC/UPSC /RAILWAYS exams where we have very less participation.We organize career guidance and counselling programs in each unit and one program on central level where all unit will be involved.

3)   Medical Aid Assistance & Guidance: 

VWA provide Medical assistance, guidance for perfect doctors and hospitals, financial support through different charity options to the needy patient coming from vidarbha region. We organize medical camps in each unit and one camp on central level to involve leading doctors.

4)   Accommodation Assistance:  

VWA arrange temporary accommodation of one month or so for job seeker & patient who cannot afford to even pay room rent. VWA also assist all job seeker from vidarbha region to find out sharing accommodation & rooms on rent. 

5)   Matrimonial Assistance:  

VWA provide platform for parents to interact & find out the closest match for their children within vidarbhian family. We will organize matrimonial camp on central level for all units.

6)   Employment Assistance:  

VWA is providing referral for jobs & businesses to young aspirants & fresher’s who comes to Mumbai for employment opportunities. VWA have an objective to start & maintain free placement consultancy in near future. 

 7)   Vidarbhian Database: 

VWA have successfully executed a big project of collecting & publishing contact details of all vidarbhians settled in Mumbai in the form of vidarbha directory. It was a very tough & challenging job. 

VWA is growing gradually by adding more vidarbhians in its team and also by executing more enquiries/requests from fellow vidarbhians.
